An independent guide to the faults DNOR owners report most, using what DNOR itself publishes about its systems.
📍 We serve KL, Selangor & Putrajaya.

Most DNOR autogate problems come down to a handful of causes: a backup battery run flat by a long blackout, a manual release keylock left unlocked, a remote battery, a Turbo 880 remote function triggered by accident, a gate heavier or stiffer than the motor is meant for, or water and silt after a flood. DNOR's own support page lists the first three checks. ClickBina is not DNOR or a DNOR dealer; this is an independent guide. If the unit is still covered by DNOR, report it through DNOR's support page first. For planning, ClickBina's autogate repair guide puts a control-board backup battery at RM80 – RM200.
The fix often depends on the model, so find it first: it is on the motor or the control box, and on the installer's paperwork. DNOR's FAQ describes the current line-up like this:
| Model | Gate type (per DNOR) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 880 Ultra | Swing and folding gates | Described by DNOR as a 7-in-1 operator |
| Turbo 880 | Swing gates (listed on DNOR's support form) | Four-channel remote with extra functions; see below |
| Model 712 | Swing gates (arm series) | DNOR's first motor |
| Model 212 | Swing gates (arm series) | Compared with the 712 on DNOR's blog |
| Model 212K | Swing gates (arm series) | Reserved by DNOR for large or heavy installations |
Our autogate repair guide covers faults on any brand; this page adds what DNOR itself publishes about its systems.
DNOR's FAQ says every DNOR system carries a backup battery good for up to 72 hours of operation, so the gate keeps working in a power cut. Its support page adds the other side: after a long blackout that battery may be flat, so give it a few hours on mains power before deciding anything is broken.
If the gate still does nothing once power has been back for a while, the battery may simply be old. Backup batteries are consumables on any battery-driven gate, and a failing one often shows first as slow or partial travel. Our autogate power cut guide explains how to tell a tired battery from a supply fault.
During a blackout most owners use the manual release to push the gate by hand. DNOR's support page lists the consequence as one of its three quick checks: if you used the keylock, make sure it is locked back in, because the motor cannot drive the gate until it is. A gate that hums or clicks but does not move after a power cut is very often this.
DNOR's support page gives the classic test: if the gate works from the wall button but not the remote, try a fresh remote battery first. If a new battery does not help, the remote may need pairing again; our autogate remote guide explains pairing, rolling codes and falling range for any brand.
DNOR publishes a step-by-step guide to its remote and keypad functions, including pairing, channel settings and the auto-close timer. Keep it with the house papers; it is the quickest way to undo a setting changed by mistake.
The Turbo 880 uses a four-channel remote with more functions than a two-button remote. DNOR's Turbo 880 remote guide lists them, and several produce behaviour that owners report as a fault:
| What you notice | Likely Turbo 880 function | What DNOR's guide says |
|---|---|---|
| An alarm sounds from the gate | Panic alarm triggered | Pressing the yellow and red buttons together triggers it; the red button disarms it |
| The gate closes by itself after a while | Auto-close timer set | The keypad sets or turns off the auto-close timer |
| The gate beeps every time it moves | Beep setting on | Green and red buttons together set the beep during opening and closing |
| The gate no longer reverses for an obstacle | Infrared sensor disarmed | Blue and yellow together arm or disarm the safety sensor (with the infrared beam add-on) |
| Only one side opens | Single-side channel pressed | Blue opens the left gate, yellow the right, green both |
If the safety sensor has been disarmed, re-arm it before using the gate again. Auto-reverse is what stops the gate closing on a car, a child or a pet.
DNOR's 712 vs 212 comparison gives both models a maximum gate weight of up to 300kg, and warns that jamming or stuttering on the 212 can happen if the gate's weight exceeds the model's capacity. It recommends regular lubrication for the 712.
A gate that has become stiff is the other common cause, on any brand. Dropped hinges, dry joints or a dragging track make the motor work harder until it stutters or stops part way. The autogate repair guide's hand-push test separates a gate problem from a motor problem: release the motor and push the gate by hand.
DNOR's FAQ is clear: if an autogate stopped working after a flood, do not power it back on until it has been checked, because water in the control board or motor housing can turn a repairable fault into a replacement.
Its rainy-season guide explains what floodwater does to a motor arm: fine soil and sediment lodge in joints and hinges and thicken the grease, so the arm becomes stiff and moves slowly or jerkily; moisture can short electronics and make sensors misread, causing incomplete openings or random stops. Its advice includes sealed enclosures, water-resistant lubricant, good drainage around the gate, and keeping control panels above ground level.
DNOR offers an app, and its FAQ describes a solar CCTV camera that can trigger the gate from that app. App and Wi-Fi connection faults are one of the categories on DNOR's support form, so report them to DNOR if the system came with the app. For adding phone control to a gate generally, see our smart Wi-Fi autogate guide.
DNOR's FAQ says repair versus replacement comes down to the age of the unit, the cost of parts still available for it, and how often it has already failed. ClickBina's autogate repair guide publishes these general figures for any brand (indicative Klang Valley, 2026):
| Item | Indicative price (2026) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Control-board backup battery | RM80 – RM200 | A consumable; replace before it strands you |
| Remote battery | RM5 – RM20 each | Replace every year or two as routine |
| Annual service call | RM150 – RM300 per service call | Lubrication, limits, sensors, connections |
| Complete new installed autogate | RM2,500 – RM8,000 | The figure to weigh a big repair against |
