Awning Cost
Calculator

Estimate your awning price in seconds — pick the roofing material, enter the span in metres, add gutters, posts or upper-floor access. Indicative 2026 Klang Valley ranges, shown as a range, never a fake exact figure.

Awning cost estimator

Measure the wall the awning is fixed to. A terrace car porch is often around 4–5 m wide.

Leave at 0 if the awning is fixed to a wall along its full length.

How this estimate works

Awnings in the Klang Valley are quoted per metre run — the length of wall the awning covers — so this calculator multiplies your run by the 2026 market range for the material you choose: polycarbonate sheet at RM350–RM700 per metre run, retractable canvas at RM400–RM900, corrugated zinc or metal at RM250–RM500, aluminium louvre at RM800–RM1,800 and tempered glass at RM900–RM2,000. The low end of each range is a plain frame on a sound wall; the high end is a heavier frame, a thicker sheet or a harder installation.

Three extras are added only when you tick them, because they are the lines most often missing from a first quote: a gutter and downpipe (about RM200–RM800 for a proper rainwater run), an elevated working platform for an upper-floor awning (RM500–RM1,500 on labour) and freestanding posts with footings where there is no wall to fix to (RM500–RM2,000 per post).

The rates come from our awning cost guide’s 2026 price tables. The calculator does not add painting of the steel frame, wall repairs behind the awning, or electrical work for motorised louvres — ask for those as separate lines. For a firm number, WhatsApp ClickBina a photo of the area and the rough size: the quote from photos is free, and if a site visit is needed it is RM150, waived if you go ahead.

What moves the price

FactorHow it changes your quote
MaterialZinc and polycarbonate sit at the budget end; louvre and tempered glass cost two to three times more per metre, but last longer and look more finished.
Span and projectionA deeper projection needs a heavier frame and sometimes a secondary beam, which pushes a job to the top of its range.
Fixing surfaceConcrete takes anchors easily. Brick or tiled walls need heavier anchor plates, and no wall at all means freestanding posts.
HeightAnything above the ground floor needs an elevated working platform, which adds to labour.
RainwaterWithout a gutter the run-off falls where the awning ends — often onto the porch or a neighbour’s side. A gutter is a small line that prevents staining and pooling.
ApprovalsIn a condo or strata development, check with the management before fixing anything to the facade, so you are not asked to take it down.

Indicative estimate only — final pricing after a photo assessment or site visit.

Common Questions

How much does an awning cost per metre in Malaysia?
Indicative 2026 Klang Valley ranges per metre run are RM250–RM500 for corrugated zinc, RM350–RM700 for polycarbonate, RM400–RM900 for retractable canvas, RM800–RM1,800 for aluminium louvre and RM900–RM2,000 for tempered glass. Multiply by the length of wall the awning covers, then add gutters, posts or access if you need them.
Which awning material is cheapest?
Corrugated zinc is usually the cheapest, followed by polycarbonate. Zinc is noisy in heavy rain and can rust; polycarbonate lets light through and is the most common choice for car porches and back yards.
Is the gutter included in the awning price?
Not always. Proper rainwater channelling off an awning adds about RM200–RM800, and it is the line most often left out of a cheap quote. Tick the gutter option to include it in your estimate.
Do I need posts for my awning?
Only when there is no wall to fix the awning to along its length. Freestanding posts with footings add RM500–RM2,000 per post. Most porch and back-yard awnings are wall-fixed and need no posts.
Why is an upper-floor awning more expensive?
Working above the ground floor needs an elevated working platform, which adds RM500–RM1,500 to labour on top of the per-metre price.
How accurate is this awning calculator?
It gives a planning range from published 2026 Klang Valley market rates, not a quotation. Send ClickBina photos and rough measurements on WhatsApp for a free quote; a site visit, if needed, is RM150 and waived if you proceed.
