Each bathroom is counted separately. The planner counts up to four.

Older homes often need a full rewire; newer homes usually only need extra points.

How this estimate works

Most renovation budgets go wrong because the money is planned as one lump sum. This planner breaks it into the rooms and trades our renovation cost guide prices separately. A kitchen is RM8,000–RM80,000, depending on its size and whether the cabinets, worktop and appliances are replaced. Each bathroom is RM6,000–RM25,000, so two bathrooms count twice. Built-in carpentry such as wardrobes, a TV wall and a shoe cabinet is RM5,000–RM30,000.

The whole-home trades come next. Flooring for the whole home is RM8,000–RM40,000, from vinyl plank to tiles or parquet. Painting the walls, ceilings and trim is RM3,000–RM12,000. An electrical or plumbing rewire is RM8,000–RM25,000; older homes often need the full rewire, which is why it is worth ticking if the house is more than a few decades old. The planner adds the low ends together and the high ends together, so the answer is an honest range, not a single number.

The kitchen and bathrooms are usually the two biggest lines, so decide on them first. The bathroom band here is the per-bathroom figure from the renovation cost guide; our bathroom renovation cost calculator prices one bathroom by finish level from the bathroom guide and its premium level runs higher, so use it when a bathroom is the main job. The formula

Budget = kitchen RM8,000–RM80,000 + RM6,000–RM25,000 × number of bathrooms + built-in carpentry RM5,000–RM30,000 + flooring RM8,000–RM40,000 + painting RM3,000–RM12,000 + rewire RM8,000–RM25,000, counting only the rooms and trades you tick. Low ends and high ends are added separately.

What moves the price

FactorHow it changes your quote
Size of the homeA bigger home needs more flooring, paint and wiring, so the whole-home trades move most with floor area.
Kitchen scopeRefreshing the existing cabinets is far cheaper than a new layout with new cabinets, worktop and appliances.
Number of bathroomsEach bathroom is a separate job with its own tiling, plumbing and waterproofing.
CarpentryEvery wardrobe, TV wall and shoe cabinet adds to the carpentry line; the material grade sets where you land.
Age of the houseOld wiring and pipes often have to be replaced before anything is closed up.
ContingencyHidden problems behind tiles and ceilings are common, so keep a buffer outside the ranges.

Common Questions

How much should I budget for a full house renovation in Malaysia?
Add up the rooms and trades you are doing. Indicative Klang Valley ranges are RM8,000–RM80,000 for a kitchen, RM6,000–RM25,000 per bathroom, RM5,000–RM30,000 for built-in carpentry, RM8,000–RM40,000 for whole-home flooring, RM3,000–RM12,000 for whole-home painting and RM8,000–RM25,000 for an electrical or plumbing rewire.
What is the most expensive part of a renovation?
Usually the kitchen and the bathrooms. A kitchen is RM8,000–RM80,000 and each bathroom is RM6,000–RM25,000, because both involve plumbing, waterproofing and specialist trades.
How is this different from the renovation cost calculator?
The renovation cost calculator works from a cost per square foot by property type. This planner adds up rooms and trades, so you can see which parts of the job drive the total.
Do I need to rewire when I renovate?
Not always. Older homes often need a full rewire, which is RM8,000–RM25,000 together with plumbing; newer homes may need only extra points. Ask for the existing wiring to be checked before you decide.
Does ClickBina handle whole-house renovation?
Yes. WhatsApp us the rooms and trades you are planning for a flat price with no hidden charges — we reply within the hour. A site visit is free.
Is this renovation budget a quotation?
No. It is a planning range from the published Klang Valley figures in our renovation cost guide, not a quotation. The final price depends on the size of the home, the finishes and what is found once work starts.
