Single-storey roofs on landed homes are the easiest to reach.
Skylights are priced per unit installed, so the calculator multiplies the range for your type by the number of skylights. A small fixed polycarbonate skylight is RM1,500–RM3,500; in tempered or laminated glass it is RM3,500–RM7,000. A medium fixed skylight is RM3,000–RM6,500 in polycarbonate and RM6,000–RM12,000 in glass. A vented glass skylight with a manual crank is RM6,000–RM12,000, and a motorised one with a rain sensor is RM10,000–RM18,000+. A tubular skylight, for rooms with no direct roof above them, is RM1,800–RM4,000.
Access is the extra most people forget. A single-storey roof is quick to reach, but a multi-storey roof or an internal lightwell needs scaffolding or ladders, which our guide prices at RM500–RM2,000 for the job.
