Every heater needs its own circuit with an RCD; older homes often need a new one.
Water heaters are priced per heater, all-in — the unit plus a standard installation — so the calculator multiplies each type by how many you need. A basic instant heater is RM280–RM530, an instant heater with pump RM500–RM950, a 15 L storage heater RM650–RM1,250 and a 30–50 L storage heater RM950–RM1,800. A solar water heater system is RM3,500–RM8,000+, open at the top because roof and tank sizes vary.
Three extras are added per heater only when they apply. A new dedicated circuit, needed where there is no existing heater point or the old wiring is undersized, is RM150–RM350. Removing and disposing of an old unit is RM50–RM120 if it is not already in the price. Moving a heater to a new position means re-routing pipes and wiring and adds RM300–RM800. The calculator caps these counts at the number of heaters you entered, so a typo cannot inflate the total.
