Re-piping is priced for the whole home, by property size and by how the pipes are run, so the calculator reads one cell of the table in our re-piping cost guide. For an apartment or condo it is RM2,500–RM4,500 with exposed PPR pipe, RM4,500–RM7,500 with concealed PPR and RM7,000–RM12,000 with concealed copper. For a terrace house it is RM4,000–RM7,000, RM6,500–RM11,000 and RM10,000–RM18,000 for the same three systems.
Larger homes have longer runs and more wet areas. A semi-D is RM6,500–RM10,000 exposed, RM10,000–RM16,000 concealed and RM15,000–RM25,000 in concealed copper; a bungalow is RM10,000–RM16,000, RM16,000–RM28,000 and RM22,000–RM40,000. Concealed piping costs more because the walls are chased, the pipes are laid in the grooves, and the walls are then plastered and repainted. Exposed runs sit on the wall in casing or trunking and avoid that work.
