Estimate what treating a damp, mouldy wall or remediating a mouldy room costs — pick the scope, add drying days or leak detection. Indicative 2026 Klang Valley ranges.

A damp wall = source fix, drying, mould treatment, sealer and repaint. Remediation = containment and removal of mould-damaged material.
Used in the structural drying phase; leave at 0 if not needed.
There are two different jobs behind a mouldy wall, and the calculator prices them separately. A damp wall treatment fixes the moisture source, dries the wall, treats the mould, seals and repaints it, at RM800–RM3,000 per wall. The spread is mostly the source repair: condensation sits at the bottom of the range, while facade seepage or a leaking bathroom next door sits at the top.
Mould remediation is for established growth: containment, HEPA-filtered air scrubbing and removal of contaminated plaster, board or timber. It is priced by scope — RM800–RM2,000 for a localised patch under about 3 m², RM1,500–RM4,500 for a full room with containment, RM4,000–RM10,000 for multi-room or whole-unit work and RM6,000–RM15,000+ for a post-flood whole house. Structural drying can need a dehumidifier or air scrubber at RM150–RM350 per day.
If the water comes from a hidden leak inside a wall or slab, it has to be traced first. Leak detection is a separate paid service at RM300–RM800 per visit. | Factor | How it changes your quote |
|---|---|
| Moisture source | Condensation is cheap to cure; facade seepage, rising damp or a leaking wet wall next door cost more, and must be fixed or the mould comes back. |
| Affected area | A single patch, a whole room and a whole unit are different jobs, because containment and equipment cost the same whether the patch is small or large. |
| Material removal | Mould inside gypsum board, plaster or timber has to be cut out and replaced, not just cleaned. |
| Drying time | Walls must be dry before sealing and repainting; wet walls can need days of dehumidifying. |
| Hidden leaks | A leak inside a wall or slab has to be traced before anything else — treating the surface first wastes the money. |
| Finish | A mould-resistant sealer and paint on the treated wall help, but only once the source is fixed. |
