13 Ideas from Young Boys to Bachelor Rooms

Browse 13 boys bedroom looks, from a younger boy's mural room to a teen gaming corner and a simple bujang room with only what a young man needs.

📍 We serve KL, Selangor & Putrajaya.

Illustrative concept design: teen boy's bedroom with a navy wall, a dark timber platform bed with an LED ledge and a long desk at the window

A boy's bedroom in Malaysia usually goes through three lives: a younger boy's room with a bunk or low bed and space to play, a teen room built around a desk, a PC or console and somewhere for sports gear, and later a bujang (bachelor) room for a young working man still living at home or renting. The ideas that work across all three are the same: a solid desk with enough power points, a wardrobe that holds more than school uniforms, curtains or blinds that keep a hot room dark, and a calm, darker palette that does not show every mark. These 13 concept designs show boys bedrooms in gaming, teen, bachelor and younger-boy styles. Use the filters below to narrow them by style or home type.

How to plan a boys bedroom that lasts

Spend on the parts that are hard to change and stay useful as he grows: the desk, power points, the wardrobe, the bed with storage and blinds or curtains that keep the room dark and cool. Keep the theme in things that are easy to change: paint, a mural, bedding and the items on a pegboard.

  • The desk is the centre. From homework to gaming to working from home, most boys spend hours at a desk. Make it long and deep enough for a screen or two, with sockets and a cable route.
  • Storage for gear. Helmets, rackets, football boots, bags and shoes need a place of their own, such as a pegboard, a bench with shoe space or an open shoe column.
  • Darker, calmer colours. Navy, charcoal, slate blue, olive and grey-green hide marks and suit a room used for sleep, study and gaming.
  • Keep it cool and dark. Blackout blinds, a ceiling fan and an aircon placed so it does not blow straight onto the bed matter in a hot Malaysian room.
  • Plan for the next stage. A bunk becomes two single beds, and a mural can be painted over when a teenager wants something plainer.

ClickBina's kids and shared bedroom guide covers rooms for young children, safety and bunks in more depth; this gallery covers boys rooms from primary school to the bujang years.

Each part of a boys bedroom has its own guide. The built-in study desk guide covers desk sizes and materials, the acoustic panel installation guide explains panels for a gaming or music corner, and the power point guide covers adding sockets and USB points at desk height.

For storage and sleep, the wardrobe design gallery shows built-in wardrobe layouts, the custom bed frame guide prices platform beds with drawers, and the roller and zebra blinds guide compares blackout options.

Practical limits before you start

  • Power and wiring. A gaming setup can draw more than one socket can safely take. Add proper points instead of daisy-chained extension blocks, and plan them before carpentry.
  • Fixing. Bunks, wall rails, pegboards and acoustic panels must be fixed into solid wall; board partitions usually need extra support.
  • Safety for younger boys. Guard rails on top bunks, anchored tall furniture and cordless blinds near beds.
  • Noise. Acoustic panels soften echo inside the room but do not soundproof a wall shared with the neighbour.
  • Strata units and rentals. In condos, drilling follows the management's hours; in a rented room, ask the owner before fixing anything to the walls.

What a boys bedroom costs

Common Questions

How do I design a boys bedroom that grows with him?
Put the money into a good desk, enough sockets, a built-in wardrobe and blackout blinds, and keep the walls a calm colour. Change the bedding, a mural or the items on a pegboard as he grows.
What colours suit a boys bedroom?
Navy, charcoal, slate blue, olive, grey-green and warm timber are popular and hide marks well. One bold wall or a simple painted mural adds character without filling the room.
How do I set up a gaming corner in a bedroom?
Use a long, deep desk, a chair that fits under it, proper sockets and a cable route, and acoustic panels behind the desk if he talks or streams. Keep the screens away from the window glare.
How much does a built-in study desk cost?
ClickBina's study desk guide puts a custom study desk and shelving unit at about RM2,000 – RM5,000 (indicative Klang Valley, 2026).
What is a bujang room?
A simple room for a single young man, often in a family home or a rented house: a bed, an open rail or wardrobe, a small desk and dark, easy-care colours, with nothing that is hard to move out.
How do two brothers share one bedroom?
A bunk bed with storage stairs saves the most floor. Give each boy his own drawers, shelf and lamp, and a desk on the opposite wall.
Are the designs on this page real ClickBina projects?
No. They are illustrative concept designs that show boys bedroom options. Your son's room is assessed and quoted to its own size and layout.
