Illustrative concept design: condo living-dining room with tall bronze-tinted mirror panels along one wall reflecting the oak dining table

A mirror wall makes a room look wider and brighter by doubling the light and the space in front of it, which is why it suits narrow Malaysian halls, dining nooks and windowless walls. The choice comes down to three things: how much of the wall is mirror (one framed piece, a cluster, strips or a full wall), the glass (clear, bronze, grey-tinted, antique or bevelled) and how it is fixed to the wall safely. These 13 concept designs show mirror walls in modern, modern classic, contemporary and art deco styles. Use the filters below to narrow them by style or home type.

How to plan a mirror wall

Decide first what the mirror should reflect. A mirror doubles whatever faces it, so the place that works hardest is a wall opposite a window, a balcony door or a well-lit part of the room. A mirror facing a cluttered shelf or a blank wall doubles that too.

  • Pick the job. To make a narrow room look wider, use a large clear mirror on a long side wall. For mood and warmth, use bronze, grey or antique glass in a smaller area.
  • Pick the scale. One framed piece or a cluster is a hanging job. Panels, strips and full walls are fixed to the wall and are quoted per job.
  • Mind the joints. Large walls are built from several panels. Ask where the joints will fall and line them up with the furniture or the panelling.
  • Safety backing. Large mirrors near seating, children or a walkway should have a safety backing film so the glass holds together if it breaks.
  • Plan the wiring. Sockets, switches and any LED strips have to be set out before the glass is cut.

ClickBina's feature wall guide compares mirror with paint, panels and stone if you are still choosing the material for the wall.

Quick pick: which mirror wall suits your room

RoomUsually worksWatch for
Narrow condo hallA full clear mirror on one long wall, or mirror strips in panellingReflections of the TV and the front door
Dining areaBronze or grey panels behind the table, or a round mirror clusterChair backs touching the lower edge
Windowless terrace wallA window-pane mirror facing the bright front of the houseWhat it actually reflects from the sofa
Entrance foyerA large round or arched mirror over a slim consoleDoor swing and shoe cabinet clearance

Mirrors often sit with other wall finishes. The fluted wall panel guide covers the panels around mirror strips, the foyer and entrance design guide covers the console and shoe storage under an entrance mirror, and the dining room design gallery shows the table and lighting in front of a mirrored dining wall.

For mirrors on wardrobe fronts rather than walls, see the mirrored wardrobe doors guide; for full exercise-room mirror walls, the wall mirror and gym mirror installation guide explains the fixing.

Safety and fixing before you put up a mirror wall

  • What the wall is made of. Brick and concrete take mechanical fixings; plasterboard or a board partition needs backing behind it. A heavy mirror should not hang from a board alone.
  • Safety backing film. Ask for it on large panels, low mirrors and anything near children or seating.
  • Damp walls. Moisture behind a mirror can spoil the silvering at the edges. Fix any seepage before the glass goes up.
  • Strata units. Drilling hours and noisy work follow the management's rules in condos and apartments.
  • Glare. A mirror opposite the TV or a strong window can throw glare onto the screen or into eyes; check from the sofa before fixing.

What a mirror wall costs

Hanging a single mirror has a published price: ClickBina's mirror installation guide lists it at RM40 – RM80 per piece (indicative Klang Valley, 2026). Mirror walls, panels and strips are quoted per job, because the glass type, size, wall and fixing method all change the price.

Where mirror strips sit inside panelling, the panel wall is a separate line: the feature wall guide puts fluted wood panels at RM2,000 – RM6,000 for a typical accent wall. Ask for the glass, the fixing, any safety film and any lighting to be listed separately.

Common Questions

Does a mirror wall really make a room look bigger?
Yes, when it faces light or an open part of the room. A large clear mirror on a long side wall makes a narrow hall look much wider; a small mirror or a tinted one adds mood more than space.
Where should a mirror go in a living room?
Opposite or beside a window or balcony door, so it doubles the daylight. Avoid placing it where it reflects the TV, the front door or clutter you would rather not see twice.
Is a mirror wall safe with children at home?
Ask for safety backing film on large and low panels, fix them properly into the wall, and keep the lower edge above furniture that could knock it.
How much does it cost to hang a mirror?
ClickBina's mirror installation guide lists hanging a single mirror at RM40 – RM80 per piece (indicative Klang Valley, 2026). Mirror walls and panels are quoted per job.
Bronze or clear mirror for a dining wall?
Clear mirror gives the most light and space. Bronze or grey-tinted mirror reflects less but looks warmer and calmer, which many people prefer behind a dining table at night.
Can a mirror go on a plasterboard wall?
A light mirror can, with the right anchors. A heavy mirror or mirror panels need backing behind the board or fixing into the structure, not into the board alone.
Are the designs on this page real ClickBina projects?
No. They are illustrative concept designs that show mirror wall options. Your wall is assessed and quoted to its own size, material and fixing.
